Opal was born in the sunshine, the water and the air of 1990s, when prosperity began to bloom all over the reviving China. Based in Wenzhou, land of dreams.

Thirty years slipped through, the young Opal now stands firmly with a cultural tradition enriched by the five-thousand-year Chinese civilization.

At Opal's design headquarter and factory, more than thirty craftsmen are devoting their energy and passion everyday to making the most extraordinary everyday objects, and to preserve Zingana’s beauty.

A classic design rises at the conjunction of experience, craftsmanship and the choice of a perfect material. Opal is ready with those three elements.

However, the strongest support of the brand is owing to the firm Opal belief and a passion for life, both coming from the one same place: Wenzhou.

Thirty years of tireless effort has allowed the Opal brand to enter countless households.

It strode into the Chinese pavilion at the World Expo And even into the Fine Arts Museum.
Also behind Opal's values is Laozi, of Taoism.“The Tao gives rise to one, One gives rise to two, Two gives rise to three, Three gives rise to all things”.

In early 2009, participating in the Cologne International Furniture Fair in Germany marked the beginning of the world recognizing "Contemporary Furniture that echoes China's past from 400 years ago."

In 2010, Opal was invited to design furnishings for the Chinese Pavilion at the World Expo.

In 2011, products designed by Opal and Kopenhagen Fur were on display at the Milan Furniture Fair, Astonishing the fashion world.These two Rose Chairs were gifts. To Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife.

In 2012, Opal brand products were a major hit among viewers.At the "Slow Seating"  themed modern Chinese furniture design exhibition at the Milan Furniture Week.

In the same year, at the "Slow Seating Look at Art" exhibition at the first Chinese Design exhibition hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture,Opal’s products were collected by the Fine Arts Museum. This has seldom been seen in the history of collecting by Chinese Fine Arts Museums.

At the 2013 Milan Furniture Fair , and porcelain tea set designed in cooperation with Dutch porcelain artists. Used all-new techniques to allow the world not only to see Chinese lifestyles, But also to take a seat and try out the flavors of Chinese life.

In the same year, at Beijing Design Week in the Today Art Museum, a collaborative effort with Danish artist Søren resulted in "Naturally—The Story of Fur and Wood," seamlessly blending fur and wood.
The year 2015 witnessed the exhibition "Take a Seat" in Milan, exploring the journey across 400 years of Chinese furniture. Simultaneously, Opal was invited to design and produce over 400 pieces of furniture for the Bird's Nest Cultural Center, symbolizing China's hospitality to the world.

In 2018, Opal underwent the brand reconstruction to keep pace with the times.

In 2019, the launch of the new product “Xiaojie Zuo (Small Masterpieces) ” marked Opal's reflection on its past and a fresh start.

Starting from 2020, a commitment was made to establish a copyright-centric enterprise, transforming intellectual property into productivity.

In 2021, Opal in collaboration with rock & wood Design, entered the Xiamen Stone Fair's Infinite Stone Design Exhibition, introducing furniture creativity to the stone industry.

By 2022, accumulating over 1000 copyrights, Opal was recognized as a "National Copyright Demonstration Unit" and provided design for the "Tea Hui" brand, initiating the transformation of copyrights into productivity.

In 2023, the solo exhibition "The Works of Xiaojie" , the chief designer of Opal, opened at the China Academy of Art, hosted by Hang Jian and curated by Fang Xiaofeng.

In 2024, built the Luxu Design Museum into Luxu Design Island.
